Flowchart with the various subgraph mining tools available for different problems. When choosing the right subgraph mining tool for a specific problem, certain considerations must be made. The biggest distinction is if the dataset is or can be represented as a single graph or as multiple graphs. Further choices can then be made specific for each of these settings. Several tools have the same use cases and will return identical outcomes, so that the major distinction is on platform support, ease of use and speed/memory requirements. *Note that gSpan can be made to work with directed graphs with minor modifications [5]
